First Aid Awareness and Health

As an NHS doctor, the provision of healthcare and first aid has always been a close personal and professional concern. St. John’s Ambulance estimates that up to 150,000 people a year could be saved during a medical emergency if there were more people trained in first aid.

No to Heathrow Expansion

Every week, I receive numerous emails and letters from constituents who are badly affected by the level of noise from planes flying to and from Heathrow Airport. Whilst much attention is inevitably focused on the debate around a third runway, the status quo simply is not good enough.

Save Kneller Hall

I am dismayed to hear this announcement from the MoD, particularly considering that there has been no public consultation on the sale of Kneller Hall. The Royal Military School of Music at Kneller Hall has a special place in our community - its summer proms are great fun and always packed; and the World War One re-enactment of the Christmas football match is a special memory for me personally.
